Walking with Cheetahs

Our Last Days in South Africa

Giraffes, rhinos, and cheetahs. But first, an incredible church service in the tiniest building. A tiny town filled with rough wood buildings and a church with a vibrant pastor sharing God's Word. Our group added 30% more people to their smiling congregation and slowly more packed in as the service continued.

Doug got up and shared about the loaves and fishes feeding thousands using children to demonstrate how it worked. "When Jesus lifted up the 5 loaves and 2 fishes to heaven, what did he say? Thank you." The waterworks started and I sat there sobbing silently in the back corner. After all this time hear listening to everything God has done in the lives of these people, it hit me hard - if I give everything over to Him and just let Him take care of it saying THANK YOU as I do it, I'll finally trust He will. Oof. Felt like a punch to the gut and an epiphany all at once.

Then we headed to Tshukudu Game Lodge and went on safari. So many beautiful animals walking alongside us as we drove through the bush headed toward sunset.

The next morning, we went to find the cheetahs to go for a walk but they had killed again and were fat and lazy so we just sat with them instead. They even showed up for morning devotions after breakfast and Tiny Wonder Woman got her photo with them. What a gorgeous way to end three weeks in Africa - walking alongside God's creation.

We were all told to wear tall socks with our pants tucked in so we didn't get tick bites.
Check out the silly Americans.

And then we drove 8 hours back to Jo-burg to stay at City Lodge before heading back to America. What a fantastic trip. The end felt like a vacation. It's time to be home and start really living out all I learned. I'll be posting the photos of the day when I get back along with more stories from the trip. Thanks for sharing this journey with us!

It was great to share it with you.
