Off & Running
a Blog of Life on the Run

One of the big things on my bucket list was to see Venice. Everyone told us we had to go up and stay for a few days, but as fast walking people, my Auntie and I bought train tickets with a same day round trip. Arriving at 10:30am, we started walking and saw the whole of Venice in 7 hours only stopping for lunch, tea time, and an incredible dinner. The views were amazing and it's definitely a place to see, but our favorite piece was Oscar, our dinner waiter. He taught us that Aunt Gay is Zia Gaya in Italian and that I am her niece Melanie, which is Nipote Melania. Oscar, the Sun, was just a peach and we ended up having a slow, delicious dinner with more wine than we'd had until that point.
