Off & Running
a Blog of Life on the Run

Late one night recently, I step outside to let my puppies out only to glance up and find softly falling snowflakes glancing off the overhead lights. The peace they generated was spiritual.

The quietness.
       The mystery.
                  The floating.

They headed for my eyelashes.
"Raindrops on roses
          & whiskers on kittens."

Christmas is almost here. Expected, yet unexpected.

The quietness of it creeps.
The rush to finish everything before the calm.
We'll be done. There will be no more to do.
Next year will be here before we know it
                with fresh answers.

And it will start all over again
        but with new eyes.
                 And snowflakes on eyelashes.
